Rules of Common Courtesy

Memorial City strives to make your visit a pleasant one. If you have suggestions on how we can make it better, please visit the Guest Services Center, near the Clock Tower, and request a comment card. Memorial City Mall (the center), including its parking lot, is private property. In order to maximize the enjoyment, convenience, and safety of our guests, the following rules of common courtesy are set forth for the purpose of protecting the center’s legitimate business interest. As a guest on this property, you are prohibited from engaging in any of the following activities while on this property.

Example of such activities include, but are not limited to:

• Carrying or possessing any weapons of any kind, including weapons carried pursuant to a valid license.

• Smoking, or use of smokeless or electronic smoking devices, in the center’s common area and corridors, or anywhere prohibited by law.

• Using physical force, obscene language, obscene gestures or racial, religious or ethnic slurs, which are likely to create a disturbance affecting the hearing or peace of other patrons of the center.

• Physically or verbally threatening any person, fighting, annoying others through nosy or boisterous activities or any unnecessary staring, by following another person through the center or by using sexually explicit language or conduct, or in any other way creating a disturbance which interferes, disrupts or endangers the center’s patrons or its commercial function.

• Any action that may put yourself or other mall patron’s in harm’s way. Such as but not limited to: running, roller skating, rollerblading, skateboarding, use of a Segway, use of a balance board, obstruction or interfering with the free flow of pedestrian traffic or with other patron’s view of windows and other tenant displays, or assembly for the purpose of disturbing the public peace, or committing any unlawful act. Groups of four (4) or more may be asked to disperse.

• Bicycles shall not be ridden on sidewalks or inside the center or on any pedestrian paths. When in the center’s parking lot, the operator of a bicycle must ride with regard for the safety of pedestrians. Bicycles must be locked at clearly designated bicycle racks.

• Creating litter or throwing, discarding or depositing any paper, glass or other matter of any kind on the property, except in designated trash receptacles.

• Defacing, damaging or destroying any real or personal property constituting part of, or located on, the center and belonging to the center, its patrons or its tenants, including writing, spraying, scratching or otherwise affixing graffiti on such property.

• Yelling, screaming, singing, dancing, playing of musical instruments, radios, tape or CD players, or otherwise communicating in a manner which creates noise of sufficient volume to impact the hearing or peace of the other patrons of the center.

• Engaging in a non-commercial expressive activity without the prior written permission of the management of the center.

• Soliciting money or other contributions or donations, or distributing commercial advertising or promotional material of any kind, or offering samples of items which are sold, available for sale or available in exchange for a donation or a contribution, except with the prior written permission of the management of the center.

• Inappropriate attire, sagging pants that expose undergarments or bare skin, or failing to be fully clothed, including footwear, or wearing apparel which is likely to provoke a disturbance or embroil other groups or the general public in open conflict.

• Sitting on floors, planters, handrails, stairs, escalators or trash receptacles.

• Possessing any open can, bottle or other receptacle containing any alcoholic beverage, except in areas specifically designated for the consumption of alcohol. Possessing or consuming illegal substances, or possessing substances hazardous to human health.

• Loitering, delaying, lingering or remaining idle about the property without useful business for being present.

• Engaging in any unlawful activity or behavior or disrupting everyday business activity.

• Violating curfew hours or being truant from school.

• Unauthorized scavenger hunts or unauthorized photography.

• Possessing pets or any animal with the exception of “service animals” as defined by the ADA.

• Any other behavior or activity that is perceived to be offensive to the general public.

Failure to comply with the rules of common courtesy or lawful or reasonable requests by Mall Management or Security may result in your loss of the privilege to use the center and/or criminal prosecution.

Rules For Play Area at The Lawn

AS SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY, WE THANK YOU FOR FOLLOWING THE PLAY AREA RULES:

  • Closes daily at 11pm or during private events
  • Use of playground equipment is at your own risk.
  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult
  • No rough playing or yelling permitted
  • No climbing or jumping on the playground equipment
  • No glass or bottles permitted in play area.

The Lawn Hot Caution

CAUTION!

The Lawn at Memorial City, including play area, artificial grass, sidewalks, furniture, and other surfaces, CAN GET HOT especially in direct sunlight.

Please use caution when touching surfaces, allowing children to play in the area, or walking pets.
