- With the community in mind,
MetroNational has developed a series of “pocket parks” throughout Memorial City. Each park will be a relaxing respite and
will include our signature landscaping as well as unique public art elements.
- The Yellow Rose Garden was the first of
MetroNational’s “pocket parks”. The park features a bronze statue of Emily Morgan, known as the Yellow Rose of Texas,
sculpted by artist Veryl Goodnight, and a unique, one-of-a-kind arbor, designed by Dimitri Gerakaris, which serves as the
entryway into this beautifully landscaped area that includes more than 200 yellow roses.
The Yellow Rose Garden is located at 820 Gessner between the Two
and Three Memorial City Plaza office buildings.
-
Texas Heritage Park was designed with a Texana touch. You will find 18 of Texas' official state symbols represented
either with sculpture or live vegetation and a short story on when, how and why it was adopted by the Texas
legislature.
Texas Heritage Park is located between Dillards at Memorial City Mall and Bally Total Fitness Center off of
Memorial City Way.
-
The Anne Wilford Memorial Park is dedicated to the memory of the late Anne Wilford, wife to Dan Wilford, retired
CEO of Memorial Hermann Healthcare System and special friend to MetroNational. Anne’s remarkable zest for life, generous
spirit and unshakable faith-a rare and endearing combination - were reflected in her commitment to family, deep spirituality
and charitable endeavors. Two of the park’s three ironwork trellises features a bronze medallion as a tribute to Anne’s most
compelling qualities: faith and charity. In the center of the park is a fountain plate that symbolizes Anne’s service to the
community and encompasses the handprints of her five cherished grandchildren.
The Anne Wilford Memorial Park is located on the northwest corner of Medical Plaza 3 at 915
Gessner Road.
